Set up the player (plug & play)

Connect the player via HDMI, get it online, set up autostart and pair the display.

For a screen to play content, it runs the OOHLEMON player app. Depending on your hardware, the app lives on a small device behind the screen or directly on the display. Both routes end at the same point: the screen shows a pairing code.

The hardware you need

  • A screen with an HDMI port plus the OOHLEMON player (a one-off €89): the Android player plugs in via HDMI and works with TVs, monitors and LED walls.
  • A Hisense display from the OOHLEMON shop: the player app runs directly on the display, so no additional device is needed.

Setup

  1. 1Connect the player to the screen via HDMI, plug it into power and select the matching HDMI input on the screen. On a Hisense display, switch the display on and open the player app.
  2. 2Connect the device to the internet, usually via Wi-Fi in the device settings. If the player shows “No connection to the server.”, check the connection and restart the app.
  3. 3Wait until the screen shows the 6-digit code and the QR code.
  4. 4If the hint “Set up autostart after a power outage” appears, choose “Set as home screen” and make “OOHLEMON Player” the default home app. The hint then disappears.
  5. 5Pair the display in the dashboard using the code on the screen. The individual steps are in “Add and pair a display”.
  6. 6If the screen is mounted in portrait or upside down, open “Setup” on the detail page, select 90°, 180° or 270° under “Screen rotation” and confirm with “OK”.

After setup

The player checks in with the server every 5 minutes and stores its content locally. You can see the installed version on the detail page under “Player”. “Setup” is also where you choose the layout: “Fullscreen” uses the whole area, while “L-Banner” splits it into content, ticker and banner. On screens mounted in portrait, L-Banner is inactive and the player shows fullscreen.

Do not skip the autostart hint: while it is showing, the player will not start by itself after a restart or power outage, and the screen stays without content until someone opens the app on site.
