FAQ — frequently asked questions

Answers to the most important questions about OOHLEMON, digital signage, pricing and more.

General

What is OOHLEMON?
OOHLEMON is a digital signage platform that manages screens in shops, restaurants and public spaces — and makes them usable for advertising. We bring hardware, software and advertising together in one system, made in Germany.
Do you offer support in English?
Yes. Our team supports you in German and English — by email, phone or WhatsApp.

Digital signage

What hardware do I need?
A screen with an HDMI port — TV, monitor or LED wall, 24 or 65 inches — plus the OOHLEMON player device for a one-off €89. It plugs into the screen via HDMI and connects to our cloud via Wi-Fi. No PC, no laptop, no browser left open: the screen runs on its own.
How does my content get onto the screen?
In three steps: 1. Upload your files (images, videos) to the media library with drag & drop. 2. Create a playlist and add your content with a display duration. 3. Assign the playlist to your display — directly, or via schedules if content should only play at certain times or on certain days of the week. By the way, the Content Hub is something different: that's where you manage RSS news feeds and social media content, which flow into your playlist as slides automatically.
Can I try OOHLEMON without my own display?
Yes. In the app, you can create a demo display that runs right in your browser — no hardware, no installation. It starts straight away with sample content. The demo display stays active for 14 days and is then removed automatically. There's one demo display per account; if you'd like another one, just drop our support team a line.

Pricing

How does pricing work?
Displays cost €3.90 per display per month — your first display is free. The Pro package (Canva, social feeds, channels, teams) is an extra flat €12 a month for your whole account, however many displays you run. No minimum term: cancel monthly in your account or by email, with no cancellation fees.
Is there a free trial?
Yes! You can try OOHLEMON free for 14 days. No credit card needed, no automatic renewal. During that time, you get full access to every feature.

Offline & reliability

What happens if the internet goes down?
Your screen keeps playing. When a playlist syncs, every image and video is stored on the player device itself, so playback doesn't depend on a live connection — the same goes if our cloud is briefly unreachable. The last synced playlist keeps running for up to 48 hours, without interruption or a black screen. After 24 hours offline, you get an info email automatically; after 48 hours, the display shows a neutral notice until the connection is back. Once it is, everything carries on by itself.
Does the player device restart on its own after a power cut?
Yes. When the power comes back, the OOHLEMON player device restarts automatically and resumes the last synced playlist on its own — even if the internet is still down. Nobody needs to be on site.

Data protection

Is OOHLEMON GDPR compliant, and where are the servers?
Yes. Your account and content data are processed on servers in Germany (Hetzner, Nuremberg/Bayreuth), and all traffic is encrypted (TLS). We only process the data needed to run the service and provide a data processing agreement (DPA). Impressions are measured anonymously via Bluetooth beacons — no facial recognition, no tracking of individuals.
